DESCRIPTION
The 1oz Australian Nugget Gold Coin is issued by The Perth Mint, and struck in 999.9 fine gold. The Perth Mint are known for producing beautiful bullion coins and this is no exception.
The reverse features an image of a red Kangaroo, the national symbol of Australia. It was designed by Dr Stuart Devlin AO CMG, goldsmith and jeweller to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Perth Mint mintmark ‘P’ is visible near the kangaroo’s tail and an additional micro-engraved letter ‘A’, which is only visible under magnification, is also hidden in the design. The obverse bears a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II as by Ian Rank Rroadley, the fourth such portrait of the Queen used for coins. The text reads ‘QUEEN ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA’, ‘1 DOLLAR’.
